I found it amazing that the existing vendor had such wide ranging access to their system. It seems the contract should have huge penalties for disclosure of confidential information from their system. In this case it was an executive's affair but it could have been the formula for their product or other information that could have been devastating.

It seems some penalty fees should have been built in for exposure or will exposure of company information of any type. This whole issue of IT guys building in back doors so they can get into a system is amazing. A security vendor should be verifying the code of the IT Vendor and defined penalties for failure to maintain secrecy.
