While preparing a training I came across a TEDTalk on metacognition and was struck by how closely the principles of RIM mirror four universal thinking skills. These skills comprise the DSRP Method for teaching thinking skills and content knowledge. They are:
1. Making distinctions between ideas, objects and things
2. Organizing things into part-whole groupings
3. Making connections between and among things
4. Taking different perspectives on and among things
If you ever thought you were smart, maybe it's because you're a records manager O_o
