"Last week's rains destroyed books, exhibition reproductions, equipment and "hundreds and hundreds and hundreds, probably thousands of comic books" stored at the ToonSeum's North Side warehouse, museum officials said today.
Joe Wos, museum executive director, said none of the comic books were of "extreme value, [there was] no 'Batman No. 1,'" but he estimated total value of material lost to flooding caused by a leaky roof at $20,000 to $25,000."
