I would add one comment. In my experience with clients, working closely with the client departments in mapping the folders/files/documents has two additional benefits; a) building trust so they know you are capable, and b) developing opportunities to streamline or correct poor filing practices. The summary; information mapping is Avery useful component of the classification/ retention process.
