Good morning to All,

Last week I asked the question found below. There have been a few, very helpful and thoughtful responses; and for those, I "thank you".

As I have read and pondered the responses, I thought it best to clarify the reasoning for my question.

First: I am not unclear as to my own position regarding content; and in time and using the appropriate method, I'll be pleased to share.

Second: I understand there will not be an overabundance of response as there are simply not too many who would feel comfortable responding.

Third: there are a few of you on this List from whom I am hoping yet to hear. You are deeply experienced and will often share your opinions and positions with us.

Finally: like so many, I have grown in many ways to depend upon the brain-trust of this List. Yes, there are many other resources upon which we should depend; but this one is truly a living organism that probably brings the most current thought to our industry.

Thank you; and if responding to me "off-line" is more comfortable for you, by all means please feel free to do so.

The Original Question:
Your input is very much appreciated. A great deal has been said and written about content management. Definitions and thoughts are easy to gather, but I would appreciate your thoughts and comments with this regard.

Using your best judgment, how would you define or describe a content management "program"?
What sets it apart from a records management, or information governance program?
Is there a difference; and if there is, what are the key elements that sets it apart?

Much appreciation,

Bill Millican
