"one thing to remember , the US President is unique in that he is both Head of State and Head of the government, Canada, Australia and NZ the Governor-General represents the Head of State ie the Queen"

The National Archives of Australia also collects the records of Governors General, so we do hold records relating to the functions of the Head of State. It slipped my mind when I responded earlier. I blame old age :)
