An issue that arose during recent County Commission Budget Hearings was whether centralizing scanning of paper source materials could be less costly and more effective than the current County approach of each department scanning on its own. As part of researching the issue we would like learn about the experiences of other organizations in implementing centralized scanning, either in-house or contracted to a vendor. We are particularly interested in identifying comparably-sized counties that moved from departmental scanning to centralized scanning, and included (1) departments headed by elected officials, (2) healthcare records and (3) law enforcement records. I anticipate that we may wish to follow up to discuss in more detail, directly. Thanks in advance for any input and assistance!
