I guess I can't resist either. I would have to go with the 200,000 archival scrolls Antony supposedly gave Cleopatra for the Library at Alexandria. If the event did happen, I bet it the scrolls were the very best information holdings of the age.

A more recent pirate treasure would be a first edition of Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol". You can buy in "Fine" condition for $45,000 plus $8.50 shipping and handling. You would think it would qualify for free shipping somehow. Maybe as a pirate I can pilfer it for free from the landlubbers!
