As a follow on to Phil's question about getting a CRM, I am mulling over starting an MBA program at 45 years old or 47 by the time I will be ready with the same question. At this point in life is it worth it to go down the graduate school road in the RIM field?

FYI Phil - I obtained my CRM at 40.

Subject: Professional Certifications

I have an MILS degree and with it, I literally wandered into the records and information management profession in 2008. For the past year, I have been thinking more and more about pursuing several professional certifications--the CRM being one of them. At 50 years old, I'm no spring chicken, but I do feel that I still have a lot of working life ahead of me.
Also, although I am not positive, I am almost sure that my employer will not pay for any type of certification, and I am absolutely sure they will not pay for me to maintain any of them.

I guess I'm just wondering if, at a bit past 50 years old, it is worth it to go down this road.

What say all of you???

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Phil Koslowski
