You are all doing an incredible job recalling these models! I'm 28 and can't exactly remember what my family had: some mid-90's model of a Hewlett Packard (pre HP designation) desktop, with the "tower" laying horizontal. I used it for floppy-disc gaming (Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Wolfenstein, etc..) and drawing pictures on paint. It wasn't until around 1998 that we upgraded to a stock Dell model, equipped with something called a "cd burner" and a dial-up connection to something called "the internet". And then it was off to the races.
