I was in the third grade at a US school in Landsthul, West Germany. While taking a test, I asked the teacher if I could close the blinds. The test questions were written on the black board and I was having difficulty seeing them due to glare. The teacher said yes. I pulled the strings to close the blinds and the whole thing crashed down. Everyone laughed. The teacher was not amused. She sent me to the principal's office (my mother was the principal) to explain my actions. She gave me a zero for the test. It took a lot of extra credit to make up for the zero. My mother grounded me at home (no TV, no outdoor activity) for a month. To this day, I still say not my fault!
