I was paddled a few times in middle school.  Not a trouble maker but
could be mischievous at time.  The one I remember most was from my
seventh grade PE coach.  I can't remember what I did but after I came
out of the shower he called me into his office.  I didn't even have an
opportunity to dry off.  He pulled out a thick board with holes.  You
could hear the whack in the gym which was a floor above us.
Afterwards he had me sign it - he made everyone he paddled do the
same. Lots of names, some I knew.

Of course my father found out and followed up with a belt after I got
home.  My backside was sore for a couple of days. Needless to say I
made sure I didn't get in Coach's cross-hairs again.
