For NY state and local news- the City and State daily email blast, which
has links to the NY Times, Daily News, Post, and the Albany Times-Union
(sometimes other things too).

For pretty much every other kind of news, my friend runs a news aggregation
page on Facebook called "Read the Damn News." It has over 15,000 followers.

I used to read Gawker Media's umbrella of websites- mainly Deadspin because
I'm a sports fan- but somewhere along the line they became incredibly
self-righteous, humorless, and impossible to read. I don't concern myself
with anything that angries up the blood.
