I'm attaching a somewhat sanitized version of the quick analysis I did
for your use. I did this analysis somewhat backwards to make a point.
That is, as you will see, I just dismissed all of the known costs for
us and simply used the vendor claimed cost of $0.10 per image as the
ONLY cost to consider. Even after this the costs of imaging are just
not worth it to us. However, if one needs instant access and multiple
access to the same record (e.g., insurance policies, bank transactions,
etc.) then the dynamics of the analysis will change. However, for low
use, inactive, records the costs of imaging far outweigh the benefits.
