Patrick hits the nail on the head with the above. one of the things
that I like about our profession is the transferable skillset. Thirty
years ago if you told me I would be sitting down and regularly
discussion issues with computer folks I would have laughed. Our
profession gives us the opportunity to move around and move up. Off
the top of my head I can name several folks who have switched
industries during their RM career and are thriving.

Breadth of knowledge is important which is one reason why I continue
to RAIN . How many folks read the story about blogging in last night's
posting? How many ignored it saying that doesn't apply to my
organization? Well let me say that organizational blogs are the next
item on the horizon right behind IM that RM and IT together will have
to address.

Patrick mentioned 'takeaways' how many folks do a conference report
for management when they return from the conference. The organization
is investing in you and they want to know that the investment is
paying off.

What a great discussion
