Hello All in the world of Records Management!

I have received several requests from prospective applicants to extend the deadline for submission of applications.  I spoke with the Speakers Committee and we are all in agreement, especially since it's the Holiday Season, to extend the Call for Presentations.  The new deadline will be Friday, January 6, 2006.    Below again is the pertinent information.  I hope every has a Safe and Wonderful Holiday Season!!!  ENJOY!!!

The 14th Heartland Records and Information Management Seminar will be held at The Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in St. Charles, MO. on May 10-12, 2006.

If you have previous experience in making presentations on records and information management subjects and are interested in being considered by the Heartland Conference Committee as a speaker, please e­mail me at [log in to unmask] no later than December 23, 2005, and I will e­mail you the "Call for Presentations" and "Presentation Application" information.

The seminar’s three tracks are:
1.  Basic Records Management: This track will be for those that are new to records management or want a refresher.  Possible subjects for this track include: conducting records inventories, filing systems, developing retention schedules, legal research, basic micrographics.

2.  Advanced Subjects:  This track is intended to cover a variety of subjects that are management oriented.  Subjects such as: risk management, forms management, personnel management, vital records protection, disaster planning and prevention, policy development, e­mail policy.

3.  Technology:  The technology tract would cover such subjects such as XML, Bar­Coding Systems, Web Records, Electronic Imaging, RIM Software, Electronic Records, Hybrid Micrographics/Imaging Systems, and Electronic Forms.
Other records management topics may be acceptable.
