In order to place a bar code on the microfilm with an image, it must be
done at the time of filming the source document.  Kodak has one or two
models that do this.  See

Could you explain this further? It may apply to our situation as well.
Are you suggesting that when the paper is scanned to the electronic file
that it is barcoded and then organized by this barcode number when it
gets dumped to film?
