As info...; The City of Reno is hosting the National League of Cities' Congress of Cities next week; Dec 4th - 9th.
Washington, DC * The outcome of the mid-term elections, affordable housing, emergency preparedness, childhood obesity and climate change are just some of the issues to be discussed by more than 5,500 municipal leaders from December 5 to 9 during the National League of Cities' Congress of Cities at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nev.
NLC will also release its State of the Cities Municipal Housing Survey at a news conference on Thursday, Dec. 7 and participants will hear from noted experts such as Henry Cisneros and Jack Kemp, former secretaries of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and current housing advocates; civil rights leader the Rev. Joseph E. Lowry; and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. More than 36 workshops and visits to sites around the Reno-Sparks area are planned for the conference as well as a Habitat for Humanity "build".
