ARMA/AIIM -
LONG ISLAND CHAPTER DINNER MEETING
TOPIC:
· Scenario 1: Your Company merges with another company. Each has
a retention schedule. What do you use, and why?
Scenario 2: You have a new legally-compliant records retention schedule,
but you also have thousands of cartons in storage, at least some of which
are categorized by your former retention schedule. What do you do?
Scenario 3: Your IT department is proposing a great new imaging system
designed to speed workflow to different departments. Which legacy records
do you have imaged onto the system?
Sound familiar? These and other situations are now the norm for today?s
records manager. During this session, Lenore Greenberg, CRM, will outline
the questions you need to ask so you can have the right answers to
successfully migrate legacy records from old systems to new. This session
is not a software discussion, per se, but is intended to discuss the
decision process you need to safeguard your company?s records. Many
considerations are presented, such as cost factors, user-needs and
compliance requirements to manage in this all-too-common situation. It is
essential to be able to conduct a migration project in a unified manner,
but how? Lenore will present some tools to manage your company?s new and
legacy records.
