I have been trying to research Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) on the web for any mention of records retention, with no luck. The official GAAP website has some reports and bulletins on line by topic, but none of it mentions records retention. Other sites are geared toward purchasing GAAP publications. The AICPA has a report on records retention, but you have to be a member to access it.

Has anyone ever actually read any text in the GAAP related to records retention?
