no, "marian" isn't alone; there are some characters in Libraryland! 
Come to think of it, there are characters of all sorts in many esteemed

Claire - I certainly wasn't attacking the profession of librarianship
and didn't imply that all librarians behave like Marion - in fact most
do not (but you have to agree, Marion is not alone out there either).
My mother was a librarian, and many of my good friends are as well. 
And
you're right her (?) fellow librarians wouldn't put up with those
antics
either.
