We are in the process of looking at replacements for the B&H 8080D scanners we use with our imaging system (FileNet).

We currently have two scanners and process about 250k pages per month (100k to 125k documents). We have a heterogeneous mix of documents (3x5 cards to legal size but no oversize; single-sided, two-sided & multi-page; with are wide variety of weights & colors of paper). All of our scanning is bitonal or grayscale and we don't anticipate the need for color. We don't have capacity issues with the current equipment so 80 ppm or higher should do fine.

Among the scanners we are likely to consider are ones from B&H, Kodak, Fuji, & Canon, though we are open to considering anything suitable. Since we scan incoming mail received directly from our mail room, a high premium is placed on reliability. Our experience with the 8080s has been very good.

We would appreciate any comments you would be willing to share about your experience with scanners that meet our functional requirements, or ones you feel we should seriously consider. Feel free to contact me off list if you'd prefer.

Thanks in advance for your help.
