The courts have their own records retention schedule and refused to cooperate with the state archives and records commission in discussing what amounted to an enforcement of the retention periods in the schedule rather than letting agencies chose to keep the records longer.  If you must know, this job was created when I took another, higher paying, position in our branch due to a retirement.
