Remember, the facts don't change as we age and the fact is still true that
email must be managed by its content - not the media - (memories of an email
task force in 1995)

Some companies that implement auto delete functions in the email system are
training the employees how to select, copy or move the messages that are a
business record.  For some companies that is still a print and file method,
but others are able to do this electronically.

Or perhaps their records retention schedule sets 6 months for routine
correspondence - a bit risky I think.

But the article you reference could also be one of the extreme examples of a
decision to delete everything - or keep everything.
