Lorinda is right, somethings cannot be retained only as documents.
My earlier comments were specifically directed to samples that were obtained
during the contracting process. In past lives I have retained a wide
variety of physical items for records purposes. Some were retained for
historical purposes, others for litigation, some were retained for
intellectual property reasons. Many were simply records that were most
efficiently retained in physical form.
