There seems to be two schools of thought on the "ethics" thing.
One is that ethically you are bound to protect the interests of "The
Industry", the other is that you are bound to represent the best interests
of your client.
You don't have to convince me that the later is the way to go, but it
points the problem of relying on ethics to determine the right thing to do.
Given that my question is broad and relates to records in general I would
be interested to hear what PRISM has to say on the matter given that they
claim to represent the interests of the wider records management industry.
