Yes, I've always been concerned about claims of 99.8% anything. Take system
up time - 99.8% sound impressive, but do the sums - for a 24/7 week that
means it's down about 20 mins a week, or 18 hours a year. Given that the 20
mins will occur at peak hour (thanks Murphy), is that acceptable to your
business?

Or take OCR - 99.8% accurate means about one word screwed up per A4 page for
a typical business report. Murphy again says that the word screwed up will
be a customer surname, or the file number, or some other important metadata,
not just 'and' or other meaningless word, is that acceptable to your
business?

I do always try to look on the bright side of life (at least we've got A4
not silly old foolscap) but your bright side isn't always the salesperson's.

Cheers

Glenn

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any
previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked
and they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Harry Peck and Co and
Glenn". Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
