For a whole other world of BBQ - Rego Park in Queens NY is the epicenter 
of Georgian-Uzbek-Central Asian BBQ. I live here and am a stone's throw 
from 2 of these joints, and 2 stone throws form a few more. It's the 
second greatest smoke smell on earth - Texas BBQ is first for me. Getting 
out of the subway and walking home, in the direction of these joints wafts 
the second greatest smell. It's bittersweet, since most nights I'm 
resigned to eating something from my kitchen (not that there's anything 
wrong with it), and not from Tandoor or Ganey Orly.

If any of you ever find yourselves in NYC and have time for Central Asian 
Q, skip the Manhattan BBQ joints (rip-offs of TX-KS-Carolina) and take the 
subway to Rego Park. Then follow your nose. Their French fries are great 
too.
