Hi Jean,
The BC Government has a retention schedule for their inhouse documents.
The following link pertains to staffing, recruitment and competitions.
http://www.lcs.gov.bc.ca/cimb/arcs/primary/1665.asp
Our organization uses the Alberta Government Records retention schedules as
our guide for records retention.
The Canadian Government has plenty of information for
internal/ministerial/departmental Records Management, but in my many, many
online searches of the Canadian Government website(s), I have not been
able to find any regulations regarding records retention for
businesses/organizations with the exception of tax related records. We seem
to be behind our American friends when it comes to establishing National
Standards for corporate records management. I suspect it is because we
don't seem to have the degree of corporate scandals such as Enron and
Qualcomm, etc that the US experiences.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tina Best

Hi there,
I am trying to find Canadian retention guidelines for how long to keep job
applications/resumes from individuals that were not considered for an
interview, and for those who were interviewed but not hired.
Thanks for your help.
