Check out http://tinyurl.com/2b2wmz for the results of my Google
search on your question. To my  knowledge, there is no legal
requirement in Canada for retaining job applications or resumes of
individuals who aren't hired. Organizations can choose to keep these
records for as long as seems reasonable (e.g. keep track of potential
candidates for other openings). Because they contain personal
information, you must keep them secure while you retain them and make
sure you shred them when you dispose of them.
