I am looking for some basic advice on doing a personal digitization project for archival purposes.
I am familiar with some general guidelines like: (1) multiple copies stored in different locations, (2) reliable medium (like gold CDs), (3) standard, open-source formats, ... etc.
But I am looking for some advice with more detail.
It seems to me that NARA used to have some advice like that, but all I could recently find was its "Technical Guidelines for Digitizing Archival Materials for Electronic Access", which is on point--but with 87 pages long, it is much longer than I was hoping for.
Could anyone refer me to a website that has basic advice along those lines.
Thanks.
Kirk Petersen, Eldorado Spgs, Colo.
