Don, if you are going to have them mail you the phone list, don't forget that the postage rate goes up to $0.42 on Monday (May 12th).

Re:
Public Records Request --
Cambridge Public Library Phonelist

I am writing in response to your public records request which
you made by an email dated March 31, 2008 to
Susan Flannery, Director of the Cambridge Public Library for
"8 1/2 x 11 phonelist from the information desk bulletin board
nearby the front door during the last weeks of April
and the first week of March 2008".

I am responding on behalf of Ms. Flannery.

The good faith estimate, pursuant to 950 C.M.R. 32.06(2),
http://www.sec.state.ma.us/pre/prepdf/pubreclaw.pdf
http://www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/arcrmu/rmuidx.htm
of the cost of responding to this request includes a preliminary
search for and segregation of requested records, which will take
approximately one-quarter hour.

The lowest paid staff person capable of doing this work is paid at an
hourly rate of $57.00.

These documents will also have to be reviewed for exempt material
prior to production.

The hourly rate for the staff person reviewing for exempt material is
$41.51, and it is estimated that the review will take approximately
one-quarter of an hour.

Thus, it is estimated that the total cost for the review and
segregation of these documents will be $24.63.

Once review and segregation of the documents is completed, we
will then make the documents available for your inspection, or if you
wish, provide you with copies of such documents after you have paid
the associated photocopying costs.

Please note that any copies of the documents which you wish to obtain
will cost twenty cents ($.20) per page for photocopies as permitted
under 950 C.M.R. 32.06(1).

In addition, if copies of public records are to be mailed to you,
there is a charge for the actual cost of postage, as permitted under
950 C.M.R. 32.06(3).

If you wish to avoid the copying charges, you may arrange with me for
a time to inspect the requested records during regular business hours
at our offices.

If you wish copies of the requested documents, Ms Flannery's good
faith estimate pursuant to 950 C.M.R. 32.06(2), is that the requested
documents is one page, and the cost of copying the requested document
is thus $.20.

page 2

A check payable to the "City of Cambridge" in the amount of
$24.63, plus $.20 if you wish the copy to be prepared, plus $.41 for
postage if you wish the document to be mailed to you, should be
directed to this office's attention for processing.

Please note that no further action will be taken on your request until
the payment is received.

The above amount is an estimate.

If compliance actually costs less than the estimate, you will be
refunded any of the overpayment.

If compliance costs more than the estimate, you will be informed of
the estimated additional fee due when payment you have made is
exhausted and before additional costs of the response are incurred.
Very truly yours,
Nancy E. Glowa
