I find it interesting in MANY areas of the government that they "can't"
follow the law because they 'can't afford to'. Yet that doesn't seem to
work for 'Joe Citizen tax PAYER' who can't afford to register their car
(nor the fines for getting caught breaking the law) and then if they
"can't afford" to pay the fine, they go to jail where WE, the rest of
the Joe Taxpayers, pay to house/feed them while they lose their
job/car/house, thereby not contributing taxes so big government COULD
afford to follow the law. Hummmmm... Some thoughts come to mind:
'Lead by example'
'Practice what you preach'
'Who's guarding the guards?'

If you can't afford to register your car, you are expected to take the
bus. If government can't afford to manage electronic communications,
they should use paper! Haha. (makes as much sense as the car
registration scenario, but is still fitting.)

I say, there ought to be a law against some of these laws! haha

I love this paragraph:
"However, NARA officials testified that implementing the legislation
could be too expensive. Maintaining electronic communications -
including instant messages, e-mail, wikis and blogs - in electronic
records management systems would likely cost billions, they said."

Government and private sector alike, we all wrestle with this issue.
There is never enough funding nor are their enough human resources to
oversee what needs to be done to capture e-records properly. Why pass
legislation where compliance becomes a problem?

Oh well...almost Friday.
Rock on!
