Hi Jason,
I just did a lot of research in this area in writing the AIIM Email
Management (EMM) Certificate Program and the first thing I'd tell you is it
depends on your specific requirements, the same as with any other type of
technology. There are at least 50 vendors that I am aware of that provide
some level of email management capabilities but what they provide, how they
approach it, etc. can vary pretty dramatically. And I'd love to follow up
with you off-list about your particular circumstances.
Another option is to take a look at CMSWatch's new report on email archiving
and management. Full disclosure: I contributed a teeny tiny bit to it and
will be reviewing it for my blog in the next couple of weeks. It covers 14
vendors in some detail and offers recommendations on which solutions are
better in particular scenarios. It's $1,950 but that includes access by up
to 12 people. http://www.cmswatch.com/E-mail/Report/
Finally, to the broader list, a quick note about the AIIM EMM program - the
Practitioner is already live, the Specialist will be live next week I
believe, and I am teaching public courses in Houston the week of June 23 and
in Denver the week of July 14. Contact me off-list if you want more
information about details, venue, cost, etc. For more info about the course
itself visit http://www.aiim.org/education/email-content.asp.
Regards,
Jesse Wilkins
