Mahalo to you, Brian.
I bought a Centera four years ago at the NY City Dept. Of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Give plenty of thought to the software which, in our experience, was the big surprise (very different file system); to how you will ingest files into the Centera; and bear in mind the input/output speed is very low, for a "box of drives".
OTOH, the hardware side was utterly reliable, and the h/w service too.
Expect your IT staff will need to learn how the machine functions--it's NOT a standard SAN device.
One of our problems at DEP was no IT staff on site, and a certain unwillingness to send them there.
Come to think of it, these comments most likely apply to any of the several similar systems on the market (NetApp, for example).
Good luck and
Best regards.

Subject: [RM] Centera Storage Systems...
Aloha All,
I'm currently working on a project to move my document images from an
optical jukebox to a Centera Storage system...I'd appreciate any
feedback from anyone using Centera regarding its reliability and
functionality. There are rumblings from my IT geeks that there are
better storage options than Centera...Is that true???
Mahalo!
