development?

Retention schedules for local government agencies are governed by retention periods set forth by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSL). The state standards are minimums and the business units within our utility may suggest that a retention period be longer on the schedule; provided that there is a justified business need. In any case, the City Clerk's Office is the one who actually writes our retention schedules; but our business units do have input. I forward that info to the Records Management Services at the City Clerk who records the requests and submits it to TSL for approval. This information was communicated to each business during the plenary session.

Regards,
Dustin
