We are in a highly regulated industry, so the question our protestors 
constantly brought up was  "what if the FDA or Health Canada asks for it?" 
  One of my backup documents were the regulatory citations themselves. 
Once I could show them that "X" agency only expected us to keep the 
documents for "Y" years they relaxed.
