correct, but first you have to tell folks that an excel spreadsheet shall be
named in the following manner

budget<dept>_draft_yyyymmdd

<bracketed> part would be the dept name
eg

budgetRM_draft_20080710

otherwise you get Peters.xls

what has to  be remembered to is that MS puts in some restrictions as to
length of file names include the folders they are filed in. So one does need
to take into account restrictions that may not exist in the physical world.
In addition establishing a naming convention for electronic files ensures
that they can be searched for easily
