I'm proud to say that ARMA members throughout the State of Texas took on
the task of improving legislation pertaining to the management of state
agency and local government records. ARMA didn't do it alone, we had
the involvement of the very talented of Dr. Michael Heskett of the Texas
State Library. That legislation was passed, overcoming some pretty
tough obstacles.

Having lived for 22 years in New Mexico (where it is thought that
Tex-Mex food is a poor substitute for real Hispanic food), I am neither
for or against Texas per se. However - Texas was one of the first
states to REQUIRE every state agency and local government to appoint a
Records Officer to function as Records Manager.
