Hi everyone,
Well, I finally finished the records management policies and procedures
manual for our utility and now I am working on the online inventory
converting our paper-based inventory management system to an online
database. In an effort to do that, I am creating accounts for each of
our business unit records contacts to access needed resources. So
here's the question: Based on your experiences with global system
implementation, is it necessary to write an internal policy for
accessing vendor-based inventory management systems or should a "Read &
Accept" Acceptable Use Policy provided by the vendor suffice? I'm
thinking of just adding a section to the master RIM policy manual for
dealing with online vendor D-Base usage that just says "Please read and
acknowledge vendor policies for acceptable use of the online inventory
management system". My only concern is that may not be all-inclusive...
Thoughts?
Thx,
dm
