Mine isn't nearly as interesting or complex as some of these, and we've
had our fair share or very strange missing file stories, but this is my
favorite:  We had a secretary ask for a file that was checked out to one
of her attorneys, and of course it was imperative we find it right away.
I had the entire staff tear every office, secretarial station and the
file room apart trying to find it, to no avail.  The following morning,
I checked the inquiring secretary's station again, found it, and
discovered why we couldn't find it the first time:  She was using it as
a back rest.
