My interest when I sent this and now is because I will be teaching a
survey
course on Records Management, mostly following the Robek textbook this
fall
at the University of Texas at Arlington. The course will be very
reasonably
priced as part of their Continuing Education courses. I'm picking back
up a
tradition of teaching this course from at least two others in our
chapter.
I took this course from Paula Stewart, CA, CRM in 2001 and I credit it
with
giving me the confidence to know I'd been exposed to all the major
topics of
Records Management. It was shortly after this, I qualified for the CRM
and
eventually passed all parts. Susan Hubbard, CRM also taught this
course.
The schedule will be 10 weeks beginning September 9 and continuing for
10
weeks. It's scheduled for Tuesday nights from 6 - 9 pm. I'll likely go
45-50 minutes and take a break each hour. I'm also planning to bring in
some guest speakers who may be in town to speak to the Dallas or Fort
Worth
chapters of ARMA within the 24 hours before or after the class. We'll
also
have at least one site tour.
The cost is $450 for the general public and $350 for any member of the
seven
association I could think to request the $100 discount for. The seven
associations whose members can get the discount are:
AIIM
ALA (American Legal Administrators)
ARMA
ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association)
NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers)
SAA (Society of American Archivists)
I can't think of the seventh right now so there may have only been six.
I'm
open to adding others.
I have a circle of about 12 who responded and have taught a course of
some
nature. I'll add you to that circle.
