That is good advice (as always). I might add that defining a record in a very complex and narrow way also makes for a confusing situation especially when it comes to such things as legal holds. If the definition if a record is "Any Recorded Information" and the determination is only how long the record has value to the company, you get away from such terms as non-records, data or all of the other terms people use to escape the discipline of records management.
