The following book that can be ordered from the ARMA bookstore is one that I
used in teaching a class at the local college. While it is a few years old

it does have a good overview of RM. The electronic side is weak as

technology has move at a faster pace than the book. They may have a new one
out also.

If your teaching the class through a college, they can probably order it
through their library at a better price (sorry ARMA bookstore), PLUS, as an
instructor they can also order the tests and answer sheets that are part of
the college course.

Professional Records and Information Management

Professional Records Management is an ideal overview textbook for those new
to records and information management, as well as to subject area
specialists who need a basic reference for areas of the discipline outside
their own expertise. The scope of coverage is very broad, covering all
aspects of information management, from basic filing systems through
electronic systems and media. Basic concepts and principles are introduced
and examined in detail, with the beginner in mind. The text is liberally
illustrated with diagrams and photos, enhancing conceptual clarity and
readability. Each chapter concludes with discussion questions and critical
thinking exercises. The book also includes a tutorial compact disk of eight
to 12 hours of alphabetic filing practice using the twelve filing rules. Its
use is intended to reinforce the work in one of the chapters.
