As many of you may be aware, the ARMA International Educational Foundation (AIEF) is spearheading the drive to provide books for a new college class in Records and Information Management at the University of Tanzania. The professor has designated three books as the standard textbooks for the course, and needs 30 copies of each book for his initial class. AIEF, in conjunction with the ARMA Bookstore has put together a "package deal" that chapters or individuals may buy to have sent to this very worthy cause.

As many of us are aware, records management education in developing nations is poor or non-existent. Such has been the case with the University of Tanzania which has failed to start an undergraduate records management and archives program due to lack of text books and reference materials.

The web page for the book project,
http://www.armaedfoundation.org/tanzania.html
now shows the instructions for purchasing books via the ARMA online bookstore and having them set aside for consolidated shipping to Tanzania following the Las Vegas conference.

AIEF will be collecting books at their booth at the conference, and welcomes other titles as well, new or used. Duplicate books will be sent to universities in various developing countries, identified by ARMA and the ICA as having RIM courses and needing resources.

As an incentive, if you donate a book at the AIEF Booth at conference, you can get a second key to the AIEF Treasure Chest (2 for $5.00 instead of 1). The lucky keys that open the chest will reveal prizes of an Orlando conference registration and various show tickets to Las Vegas attractions. Come by and support your Foundation and this very worthy cause. See you in Las Vegas.
