Hi,
I am wondering about your comment "scares some of our stakeholders" - is this because they do not thing *they* will be able to comply or because they don't think there will be compliance across the organization?

Our program is also decentralized & we focus on training and support of key personnel to insure compliance. We also have annual internal audits which helps to keep departments thinking about Records Management. Not all by in as we would like, but by doing the audits we place the responsibility squarely on the managers. Those that want our help and support to maintain or improve their RM practices are given help, those that baulk at the program run the risk of being called on the table if problems arise down the line.

Hello All,

I am looking to better understand what other companies do to insure
adherence to their records retention schedules. Our company is ready to
adopt a Records Management policy and retention schedule. Our program is
based on a decentralized model where department mangers are responsible
for maintaining proper retention and destruction. This scares some of ours
stokeholds a little bit.

Does any one
have anymore suggestions on insuring adherence? What are some good
solutions?
