Washington DC's 38,000+ employees will switch to Google Apps at a cost of
$500,000 a year vs. potentially millions in current and recurring costs for
Microsoft Office and Exchange. Yes, it raises concerns about security,
accessibility, etc., but they are not an outlier in looking at Web-based
applications from the perspectives of cost, ease-of-use, and ready access
from remote locations.
