Good afternoon--
 
I wondered if any educational institutions are sharing my experiences with transgender former students who get surgery after leaving school and then request that the name and gender on the student records be changed.
 
We are requiring a court order that specifically requires the alteration of student records.  We are not accepting a final judgement of name change as we would then have change records on request any time a name is changed, for any reason.  Also, a final judgement of name change does not address gender change.
 
How are you handling this?
