well i've been in the RM profession for close to 30 years and have been laid
off twice. The key thing is to be constantly reinventing yourself or
expanding your knowledge. By reinventing I mean gaining more skills,
certifications and expanding your horizons. Look at Pat Cunningham (the tall
one) over at Motorola, he's into information security. Ray Cunningham (the
shorter one) is into privacy issues. Keep up to date, read the news and make
yourself indispensable or at least transferable.
