Aloha John,

No flame, but I agree with John's praise of Mike's contributions to the
IMJ...For those who have "been around" records management, the IMJ has
gone through a healthy change during Mike's involvement. For myself, I
am thankful for Mike's contributions to the industry.

I hope the "new direction" will be another process of growth in the
IMJ...

Subject: Re: Help? an Additional Comment

Before I get flamed into a pile of professional charcoal, let me add
that my previous comments mean no disrespect for any previous editors or
contributors (of which I was one). The RMQ did its job of originally
getting the Records Management profession the attention that it needed
during the 1970', 80's, and early 90's. However, based on its content
and format, it was perceived as not doing all that could be done to
expand the concepts of Records Management out of the Records Management
Department and into the enterprise as a concept to be embraced by
organizations more fully. In addition, there was a perceived need to
MUCH more fully address the exploding role of technology in information
management, and it was decided to take ARMA's professional journal in a
new direction. Mike Pemberton was a major leader in that initiative. And
we are all better off for his dedication in accomplishing those new
goals.

Thanks Mike.

John

Subject: Help?

Folks,

My 10 year run as Executive Editor of the Information Management Journal
(IMJ) ended December 31, 2008. They are "going in a new direction." I
wish them well.

However, I ve learned a lot, contributed heavily to the journal s
content, and focused on the quality process. Now, I m seeking new
editorial opportunities.

If you know of an organization with editing projects I d like to send
them my editorial resume for review. As we do not use attachments here,
I can send it only to those who request it and to those whose contact
information you send me.

I will also appreciate your good thoughts and suggestions.

Mike
